| The enclosed communication gives the
history of a transaction which I have investigated. It appears that the
transportation as obtained from Genl. French, or rather by his order, a
copy of which is in the possession of Col. L. B. Northrop, and the
flour, 500 bbls, transported at the expense of Government from
Petersburg Va to Augusta Ga. |
