| You will proceed to Columbia, S. C. for
the purpose of obtaining sand for the Govt Moulding Dept at this
Station. |
| Call upon Capt Thos R. Sharp and ask his
advise and aid in affording you any facilities in his power, so as to
get the cars loaded as expeditiously as possible. Take with you a
specimen of the sand which is needed. |
| Mr. Alexander of the Congaree Iron Works
may be of some assistance to you in procuring this sand. |
| Say to Capt Sharp that only a half car
load of plank came down, he will oblige me by having two flats at
Sharp's Mill by next Saturday for additional Lumber. |
