Ordnance Depot, Richmond Arsenal
March 23rd 1865

Thomas Dodamead Esqr
Supt R. & D. RRd  {Richmond & Danville RR}

Sir,
   On the 15th instant I addressed a letter to Mr C. G. Talcott, the Supt of the Danville R Road, stating that it became necessary for this Depart. to build a small house for Storage at South Boston back of the Station house, on the opposite side of the track, and next the River, and asking for permission for it to be built if it would occupy ground of the Company.
   Since then Mr Talcott resigned his position in consequence of which, no ???, I presume has been made in the matter.
   I now submit the application for your consideration; and as the immediate erection of the proposed building is of great importance to this Dept, I beg leave to request a reply at your earliest convenience.
   On the other side, please find copy of the communication addressed to Mr. Talcott. {not found}
Very Respectfully
Your Obt Sevt
