NA, QM 8/31/1861

Quartermaster General's Department
Richmond, Va. August 31 1861

Genl. F. K. Zollicoffer
Knoxville, Tenn.

Sir,
Freights for Manassas and Richmond reported to be stopped at Knoxville, and something wrong with the Superintendent of Road from Knoxville to Bristol {the East Tennessee & Virginia RR}. The superintendent {probably M. S. Temple} should be made to resign, and one of undoubted fidelity to the South be put in his place.
The report says fidelity of present Superintendent suspected.
A. C. Myers, Q. M. General
