   In reply to your telegram of 26 inst the Q. M. Genl. desires me to instruct you that the turn table & R. Road iron, saved by you, should be sent to Richmond as rapidly as the means of transportation may permit, being careful not to interfere with the more important transportation of food. The cars you will retain for use.
   The hay from the most exposed points should be sent to Richmond as soon as possible.
   The iron & turn table you will consign to Col. C. F. M. Garnett, Commissioner -- thro Engineer Bureau. ***
