Sir, 
   In reply to your communication of the 9th instant, relative to a supply of iron for the Alabama & Mississippi {Rivers} Rail Road, I have to inform you, that the iron (eight tons pig) can be furnished, if the supply thereof can be made without injury to the Department.
   The market value of the iron thus furnished will be credited on the transportation account of the Road.
