Your letter of the 21st instant has been received.
|
|
The application you present has been considered and you
are authorized to employ Mr. Littleton T. Wallace as an Agent of the
Quarter Masters Department to be charged with the performance under
your Supervision of the duties heretofore performed by Captain W R
Johnson A. Q. M. in construction of the Piedmont Rail Road.
|
|
The compensation of Mr Wallace will be fixed at one
hundred & forty dollars per month and will be included in the
accounts of Expenditures by the government to be reimbursed by that
Rail Road Company.
