Hon. Jas. A. Seddon
Secy of War CSA

Sir,
Our company has been waiting patiently to hear of the shipment of our supplies from England. These supplies were contracted for by Capt. J. M. Robinson, and were to have been shipped without delay to Bermuda or Nassau, but we have not heard of their leaving England, down to this time.
Soon after Capt. R's return from England he stated that you would probably send or allow him to make another trip to England. Not having heard from him since then upon this point I respectfully ask whether you design to send him shortly. If not it seems to me absolutely necessary for some one to go out and stay in England until the supplies for our Roads are fairly landed in our ports.
Such a length of time has elapsed since our first order that we now need in addition fully as much as were at first ordered, and we require some one to go at once to England, otherwise our Roads must be still further crippled for want of Tyres, shovels, Block Tim and other matters that are indispensable, and cannot be procured in this Country.
Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Servt
C. O. Sanford
