Dear Sir,
I have respectfully to ask for a Renewal of the detail of Private D. B. Haselton, Compy E, 25 Regt S. C. Vols, as a machinist for employment in the shops of this Company. His original detail was granted by Special orders from your office, No. 47 and dated 26 February 1864, for sixty days.
As his services are very important to us, with every probability of them being required by us during the war, allow me to ask, if his detail cannot be extended to a longer period than that indicated above.
Very Respectfully

This detachment has again been extended to 31st May 1864. As there are 28 men now detached from this command & I have only 38 for field duty, of this last number 13 are absent wounded & 5 sick absent. I would respectfully ask that none of my detachments be further extended.
