| On yesterday I sent you duplicate receipts
for 80 shovels, it having been reported to me by my clerk that all had
arrived. |
| It turns out however that these shovels
are receipted for at the Montgomery & West Point R/R in Montgomery as
13 bundles, the no. of separate shovels not being specified on the
R/R receipt my clerk reported all as having arrived, and but 75 shovels
are found in the 13 bundles. |
| I must request you therefore to return me
the receipts forwarded by mistake, and to inform me if possible whether
the shovels and bundles were counted in Selma, and if so, the no. of
each, so that I may make enquiries for those missing. |
