| I have this day received the 24 kegs of
white lead forwarded by you on the 9th inst but 2 bars of flat iron (1/2
x 2 1/2 or 5/8 x 3) which should have accompanied the lead, and which
are upon the Montgomery & W. Pt. R/R {Montgomery &
West Point RR} Cos receipt sent me by you are missing and do not
appear upon the S. W. R/R {South Western RR}
Cos receipt from Columbus. Please ascertain if possible from the
office of the Mont'gy & W. Pt. R/R what has become of this iron which is
very essential to the prosecution of my works. |
