C. S. Armory Macon Ga
Novr 12th 1864

Mr. W. A. Peed

Sir,
   You will proceed without delay to Yongesboro, Ala and if necessary also to Montgomery, Aa, and Columbus Ga. and make arrangements with the Qr Master at either place for he immediate transportation of lime from Youngesboro to Macon, for the service of this Armory. One car load per week is consumed, and at least this quantity should be sent forward regularly. The lime is ready for shipment and the only difficulty to be removed is that attending the transpn. You will do all in your power to remove this difficulty in consultation with the Q. M. and if necessary with the Supt or Agents of the W. P. R. R. {Montgomery & West Point RR}
   You will also call on the Q. M. at Columbus Ga, and arrange with him for the transportation to Macon of a lot of cast iron ventilators which I have reason to know are now in Columbus awaiting transpn. I am informed by the Qr. M. in Montgomery that these castings were forwarded from the latter place on the 20th Oct. It is absolutely necessary that these castings be forwarded without further delay and you will not leave Columbus until you see them duly shipped on the cars. You will show these orders to the Qr Masters with whom you may nave occasion to confer. The above duties duly performed you will return to this Armory and report to me in person.
I am Sir
Respectfully Your Obdt. Svt.
Jas. H. Burton
Supt of Armories
C. S. A.
