| I have the honor to request that
instructions be given to the officers commanding the Dept of Miss
& Eastern Louisiana & the District of the Gulf, to give all
possible assistance & protection to Mr. D. H. Kenney the Agent
assigned to the duty of purchasing or impressing the iron and rolling
stock as belonging to the following Roads viz: |

| The iron to be removed from these roads
should be taken up as promptly as possible, and to this end the Agent
to whom is Committed should have full protection and assistance from
the Military Commanders |
