Sir,
   The bearer of this letter, Capt. George E. Walker, of the Engineers is directed to make forthwith the necessary preliminary arrangements and proceed as promptly as possible to remove the railroad iron, water tanks &c of the Railroad lying between Fredericksburg and Acquia Creek. {Part of the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac RR}
   Please extend to him such aid and facilities as may be in your power in the execution of the important duty with which he is entrusted.
