Dear Sir,
   The Va. C. R. R. {Virginia Central RR} Company is greatly in need for prompt repairs of Chickahominy bridge injured by the Raiders, of the following bill of lumber, which the Eng. Dept as this time is unable to let them have. Can you not help as heretofore -- the transportation on the road being of vital importance & the bridge alluded to the only one injured.

   If it were further possible to assist by hauling the foregoing timber to the V. C. R. R. Depot it will greatly expedite the necessary repairs of the Road. The bearer is an agent of the Company.
