| I have the honor to
enclose herewith a letter recently received from Capt Jno. M. Robinson
Corps of Engrs. P. A. C. S. in reference to certain changes proposed
to be made in the R. R. bridges across the Holston & Watauga
Rivers with a view to giving them a more permanent character. As the
bridges in question were constructed by Capt Robinson his suggestions
are entitled to great weight and are cordially approved by this
Bureau. I therefore beg leave to urge them upon respectfully for
