   The Sec of War telegraphs for troops to be sent to Richmond at once. Nine hundred (900) men will be prepared to leave Wytheville tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, Six hundred (600) at the same time from Max Meadows. On Wednesday morning twelve hundred (1200) more will be prepared to leave Dublin Depot.
   Transportation is needed for these men and their baggage. Maj Genl Jones Commdg requests that you will use every exertion to furnish it at the time specified & also that you will arrange for transportation over the South Side & {Richmond &} Danville R. Rds with their Superintendents, that no delay may occur at Lynchburg or Burkeville. Please reply at once, fully stating what you can do.
