| The Major Genl Comdg directs
that you take the negroes now at work on the Houston & Galveston R. R.
{Galveston, Houston & Henderson RR} from
that work, and also call in the (50) fifty negroes now cutting wood for
Maj Sellers Q. M. and send them to Beaumont to Capt Heriot A. C. E. to
be used in repairing the Beaumont and Orange R. R.
{Texas & New Orleans RR} |
| The place of the negroes thus
used will be supplied by calling upon the planters to furnish one half
of their male slave labor to meet this deficiency. |
