| I am informed that there are 5
car loads of heavy guns in Columbia that cannot reach here for want of
transportation; the Charlotte cars {Charlotte &
South Carolina RR}, I am told, are able to haul them, but refuse
doing so {over the South Carolina RR}. You
will please send an agent to attend to this matter immediately, after
consulting with the Chief Quarter Master here & with the President of
that road. |
