| The transportation of
subsistence from the line of the Mobile & Ohio Rail Road is to us a
matter of vital importance. This road refuses to let its cars when
loaded with my stores, be brought over the Southern
{(of Mississippi) RR} Road, thus causing
serious delay and loss. All other roads, in this department, take each
others cars. I respectfully ask that this road be required to allow its
cars loaded with subsistence stores to be carried directly over the
Southern Road to be promptly unloaded in Vicksburg & returned. I ask
this as a matter of necessity. I have heard nothing of Col. Wadley yet. |
