| I am directed by the Lt Genl
Comdg to say that it is absolutely necessary that the RR between this
point & Jackson be repaired in order to facilitate the transportation of
troops and supplies. He suggests that you endeavor to obtain a
sufficiency of Iron from the V.Burg & Shreveport R. R.
{Vicksburg, Shreveport & Texas RR} The Iron can be obtained from
that portion of the track which is not in use. If you find that this
iron cannot be purchased you will inform the Lt Genl Comdg & other steps
will be taken to procure it. |
