| III The Chief Qr. Mr. & Chief Com. of
Subs., for the Eastern Sub Dist. of Texas, will use all energy and
expedition to place forage, subsistence stores and quartermaster stores
at Beaumont, for at least 2000 men for thirty days. |
| The Chief Quartermaster of
this Sub Dist will at once make the necessary arrangements for an extra
train of cars on the N. O. & Texas R. R. {The
correct name for the road mentioned was Texas & New Orleans RR}
to transport troops to Beaumont. He will also make the necessary
arrangements for transportation from Beaumont to Sabine. Should the
Government transports be out of repair, he will make the necessary
arrangements to secure the services of the S. B. Florida, which had
better be ordered to Beaumont in case of need. |
