Captain,
The Lieut. Genl. Comdg directs that you will cause to be sent, with a suitable guard, to the Post Commander at Cahaba, by the train leaving here tomorrow morning {Northeast & Southwest Alabama RR}, two hundred, or as many as the cars can conveniently carry, of the Federal Prisoners now at this point. You will include all the Commissioned Officers and "safe Guard" men, placing them, if you deem advisable, and on condition that they parole themselves not to attempt to escape, under only such surveillance as will prevent them from communicating with any one.
You will also, in telegraphing the Commander of the Post at Cahaba of the number sent, request him to report the same to Capt H. A. M. Henderson Asst. Agt of Exchange at that point.
I am Captain
Very respectfully
Your Obt Sevt
A. J. Watt
