Mr. C. S. Williams

Asst Sup So. R. Road {Assistant Superintendent, Southern (of Mississippi) RR}

Jackson, Miss.

   I wrote to you yesterday, (for God's sake) to send cars to Edwards Depot {18 miles east of Vicksburg} to transport fodder to this place. I have just been informed that we have 150 bales fodder there, now ready for shipment. I would urge (if possible) that you place cars enough at that point (Edwards) to transport all we have there at present. Please attend to this matter, as we have had no fodder for the animals in this Brigade for over a month. The cars will be unloaded immediately upon their arrival here.
I am very Respectfully
Your obdt Servt
J. W. Patton
