Brunswick, Nov 11th 1861

To His Excellency
Gov Jos. E. Brown
Milledgeville, Ga.

Dear Sir,
You will confer a great favor on me by informing me in what manner you desire that I should draw for the amount of money you have advanced to the B&F {Brunswick & Florida} RR Co. I am very anxious to pay off some of the most urgent claims against the Road & as the SA&G {Savannah, Albany & Gulf} RR have not yet rendered me an account of the earnings of our Road for the past month, I am unable to do so without drawing on you for at least $3,500. We are sadly in want of Blank Books for fst a/c & also for Leger, Cast Book &c & everything of the sort is so very high in Savh I would not purchase any. If you will have a few made up for us in the up country it would save us a great deal. As I have just taken charge of my department of the Road I will have to be governed by Col. Schlatter in regard to what Bills &c to pay & as he is to be entirely relied on in such matters, I hope the same will meet your approval.
Yours respectfully
W. Hazlehurst  Treas & Audt
