Annual Report of the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac RR
as of October 1, 1864,
Committee of Examination's Report

The Committee of Examination offered the following repot which was received and approved:

The RFP RR Co
We passed over the Road from Richmond to Hamilton's Crossing on Saturday the 12th inst and found it in excellent order. The public enemy have in the past summer burnt the bridges over the North and South Ana Rivers, tore up the track for three miles or more, bending the iron and destroying the cross ties. The Executive Officers of the Company deserve the thanks of the stockholders and of the public for their energy and perseverance in repairing these injuries. The scarcity of labor and material considered they have accomplished all that could be expected of them. Three depots were also burned by the enemy. It has not been deemed politic to replace them at present. With the exception of their burnt depots, the road, and its appurtenances are in as good order, as when the supply of labor and materials were abundant.
Respectfully submitted. Nov. 17th 1864

Thos. B. Anderson
