The Directors of the Western N C RR met at
this station & were called to order by Dr A. M. Powell Prest pro tem
Present N W Woodfin Dr J C McDowell Jonas Cline A Henderson Wm Murphy F
E Shober & R A Caldwell.
The Board instructed its officers to
insist on an increase of Government freight and passengers of at least
one hundred pr cent and give as a reason the great increase of expenses
incurred by Rail Roads.
