   The general management of Rail Road repairs is now in the hands of Maj. Gen. M. L. Smith, as you may have been notified by Gen. Gilmer. You will therefore look to him for all instructions and aid. If the Atlanta & West Point could be pushed rapidly through to Atlanta and that force continue on down the Ga. R. Rd., the forces would meet in the vicinity of Conyers. The impressment here has been so much delayed that our progress is not satisfactory. Capt. Armstrong is now engaged in collecting negroes and I hope our force will be augmented immediately.
